Intense ruby red, with fruit driven aromas of ripe cherries and blackberries and no excessive oak character. Generous and smooth on the palate, with soft, gentle, well balanced tannins and a long, persistent finish. The 2008 growing season had a mild, dry autumn and winter and an early bud break, followed by a wet spring with heavy rain through to the end of May that slowed growth without harming vine health. The wine aged in 100% new French oak, part of the estate's usual regime of separate lots aged in barrique, blended, then returned to barrel to finish.
